Boost-ing it up in 2014!

MEET OUR 2014 "BOOST" PARTICIPANTS!!!

These professionals will be participating in many of the same activities that you are or already have done, and will also have the opportunity to have a week-long "mini-immersion" experience. We know that you will welcome them with friendly smiles, intro's, and tips to adjusting to life in Ecuador as you have experienced it thus far. And so, without further adieu...we bring you:

DANIELLE JACKSON
1. Hola! My name is Danielle Jackson. I am currently a 4th year School Psychology Doctoral student at Mississippi State University. I've had the pleasure of studying in the beautiful college town of Starkville, MS for going on 5 years now. I am originally from North Little Rock, AR. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas in 2010 and received my Masters in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State in 2012. I have a passion for working with children, traveling and learning novel things. I am extremely excited about the Cultural Immersion Boost in Ecuador. I look forward to meeting wonderful people and learning a great deal along the way. See you Soon!:-)

ALANNA WORKS
2. Hey all! My name is Alanna. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and now I am a school psychologist in Atlanta, GA. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, reading books, and spending time with family and friends. As a child I frequently traveled around the world with my family because my father was in the military. It's been a very long time since I have been out of the country and I'm super excited and slightly nervous! I look forward to meeting each of you, see you soon!

AMBER WALZ
3. Hi everyone! My name is Amber and I have been working as a school psychologist for the last 3 years in Santa Maria, CA, which is about 3 hours north of Los Angeles in Santa Barbara county. I did my graduate work at University of California, Santa Barbara. I, like most of you, love to travel, but I have not had the chance to visit South America yet, so I am especially excited for this opportunity. I enjoy reading, cooking, eating, and dancing. I am really looking forward to exploring Ecuador and meeting all of you! I don't know what areas of the country to visit, so I'm hoping you all can provide some guidance (and travel buddies!). Really excited to meet you all!

  1. Team Ninos de Maria:

Greetings EPPP 2014 participants! Welcome to the EPPP family! I am Traci, and I will be the Team Leader for the Ninos de Maria worksite. Our team is comprised of the following fab four: Sarah, Jenny, Patty, and Paula. It is clear that these four fantastic ladies have a lot to offer the group, so get excited to meet them!
Our worksite will be doing very similar projects to El Jardin, in that we will be providing professional development to staff, providing remedial instruction to children, and collaborating with families.
I was part of the first EPPP cohort, so Quito is a distant memory at this point. I am so looking forward to getting back there, meeting all of you, and experiencing the program through a different lens. As both Sarah and Lisa mentioned, this experience will absolutely be life changing, if you let it. The opportunities are abundant, so be sure to step out of your comfort zone and experience any and all that comes your way. I look forward to meeting all of you and making some beautiful memories together!

    Ciao for now!

    Traci
